Pool Filter Silica Sand is a media designed to deliver clean, clear, and healthy pool water. Available in 30/60 and 5/8 mesh size they provide an effective multi-layer filtration system for residential, commercial, and industrial swimming pool sand filters.
In filters requiring a gravel support layer, the media typically consists of approximately 80–90% of 30/60 fine sand as the primary filtration layer and 10–20% 5/8 course sand as the bottom support layer. The support gravel helps distribute water evenly throughout the filter bed, supports the finer filtration media, and protects the filter laterals during operation and backwashing. The fine silica sand captures dirt, debris, and suspended particles, delivering excellent water clarity and efficient filtration.
Note: The required quantity and ratio of fine and coarse sand vary depending on the filter manufacturer and model. Always refer to the filter manufacturer's specifications when replacing or installing filter media.
