Keruing planks is a durable hardwood with a grain that ranges from straight to interlocking, and a texture that can be moderately rough. It typically features a reddish-brown to dark brown heartwood, sometimes with a purplish hue and lighter-colored sapwood. Due to its strength and resistance to moisture and pests, Keruing is widely used in construction for structural elements, flooring and in marine applications like boat building.

Found in Kalimantan (Borneo), Sumatra, and parts of Sulawesi. It grows in lowland tropical rainforests.Used in heavy-duty construction, flooring, outdoor furniture, railway sleepers, boat building, and structural work.
